Tattoos — Katie Bell

Hi!! Thank you so much for your interest in getting tattooed by me! Please read the following information and then fill out the form. I will get back to you ASAP!

General:

My name is Katie and I moved from Iowa to Chicago in August 2025! I have been tattooing for over three years now (crazy!) and tattooing full-time for about a year and a half! I consider myself to always be learning and am constantly working to expand my skills and practice. I, like many others in this time, feel a call toward the analog and fed-up with the requirement of always staring at a screen, so in my time away from tattooing this fall l’ve been really excited about having a physical flash book in which I draw with colored pencils!

I am working out of a private studio in West Humboldt. The address and instructions will be given to you upon booking. I wear a mask during the tattoo but do not require it of clients. Please let me know if you would like me to wear one during the entire appointment. There are other people who work in the building I am in who do not mask. The studio is up one flight of stairs and unfortunately there is no other way in.

Your appointment:

-Please bring your ID to your appointment, there is a short form to fill out!

-Make sure you are rested, well-fed, and hydrated.

-Moisturizing your skin for the days leading up to your appointment helps make my job a lot easier.

-You are welcome to bring headphones or a book— I love to chat but it is not required. If I really need to focus on a particular part of the tattoo, I may tell you that I cannot talk for however long!

-Guests Policy: One guest is allowed but not recommended as there is a major lack of space.

The tattoos:

You can pick flash at your appointment or ahead of time! There is a place for this in the form

My preference is 1-3 tattoos per session, depending on size and amount of detail!

Always willing to customize flash unless specified otherwise

Flash is generally repeatable until I’ve done it about three times and then I’ll likely offer to draw something similar

I love getting to collaborate so sometimes it makes the most sense to work on the tattoo together when you arrive! I don’t send drawings ahead of time and always prepare options for your appointment if custom :)

Things I’m not interested in:

-Extremely fine-line script, numbers, copies of other artist’s work without permission, things directly from Pinterest (is great as inpso though! We can chat about it!)

If there is a custom that you want that I don’t feel comfortable doing as far as my skill set or interest, there is very likely someone I know of in Chicago who can do it and I would be happy to make recommendations!
